Below you will find a concise summary of our statement of faith which sets out the essential truths that we believe and teach at River of Life Church.
We believe the Bible is the written word of God, fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. It is the final and unchanging authority in all matters of faith and practice
We believe there is only one true and living God. He is the all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-wise Creator of all things. We believe this God exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's one and only Son. He is fully God and fully man, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. We believe Jesus lived a sinless life and died a sacrificial death for the sins of all who trust in him alone for salvation. We believe in his burial, bodily resurrection, and ascension to heaven where he currently intercedes for his people.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, sent by the Father and the Son to glorify Jesus Christ and to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates spiritually dead sinners and indwells, sanctifies, and empowers every believer.
We believe every human is created in God's image, uniquely as male and female, to know and enjoy him forever. However, this is impossible in and of themselves because every human is, by nature and by choice, a sinner condemned by a holy God.
We believe God, by his grace alone, has provided the only means of salvation through the substitutionary death and resurrection of his Son, Jesus. We believe salvation is available to anyone who turns from their sin and trusts in Jesus as their only Savior and Lord. The moment a person repents and believes in the gospel, they are forgiven of all their sins, clothed in the righteousness of Christ, and given the gift of the Holy Spirit who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it. We believe that, from start to finish, salvation belongs solely to God to the praise of his glorious grace.
We believe the church consists of people from every tribe, language, people and nation who have been called out of the world to know and enjoy God forever. Jesus Christ is the head of the church and rules over her through his Spirit and Word. We believe God designed the universal church to have local expressions where Christians meet for worship, fellowship, evangelism, and to practice the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper.
We believe in the bodily and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ. He will return to judge the living and the dead and establish his eternal kingdom, in which his people will dwell forever.
